Second Life discussion.

Post  Libramon on Thu 7 Feb 2008 - 15:50

Since a lot of us have been having fun on Second Life recently, I'm opening this topic so we can talk about it. We can share good locations we found, and also collate a library of places where we can get interesting freebies.

As for me, I now have the princely sum of L$6500 in my account, so I'll be doing some shopping.

I made an offer to buy an avatar for people, and I'd still like to do so. Those digimon ones will only cost me the equivalent of $2 US each, so I'm happy to provide these as they enhance my SL experience as much as I hope they will enhance yours. However for now I envisage I'll be spending most of my current funds myself, so how about I get you guys one of those little pokemon Avatars from the Toonotopia place, which are about L$30 to L$50 each (Around 20 US cents) Just let me know which one, and I'll send you the L$ for the purchase.

Scoutter, remember that conversation we had, about Camper Stocks? They do exist for sale, we might be able to find some in SL somewhere.

One exciting thing I found was a skin/clothing maker, looks really easy to use. I'll buy it and see what I can do with it.

Sure thing, not a problem ^_^

You ought to be able to raise enough using money seats/camping spots.

No need to buy me an avatar. I've camped enough to purchase that Charmander one. In fact, I might buy another Pokemon one too.

Although I'd LOVE a Guilmon avatar. Wink

It is nice to know such a thing exists. I'M sure we will find it hopefully.

I will try to improve my usage in building restrains. With time, I maybe can build or modify missing stuff well enough then.

Grrr no Pokemon avatars are on display - which I find odd. One day they're all there, the next they are not. Hopefully it's just some server problem so eventually we can buy one.

It's a shame you're not on Chu, cos I found a Pikachu avatar for $L300.

And we wouldn't havemoney ptroblems if three people of us would stay online at this group-money earning barrel which brings 8 L$ each 10 minutes or so.

Yeah, we could do that or go camping like Barry did. And Seraphon, Scoutter and are three and are mostly online in the evening, so it shouldn't be a problem!

That group camping spot is L$2 for 10 minutes.

Anyhow, I've bought the following, and a friend helped me test them out.

- 1-person tickle stocks (the ones with the wrists either side of the ankles)
- 2-person tickle pillory
- 3-person tickle stocks (different configuration, the legs are spread so paws don't clip into each other)

All of them have the tickle and struggle animations.

- A nicely detailed stretching rack
- Some other random stocks with no scripted animations
- A Mew avatar, looks adorable. 'Tiny' avatars can't use devices and such, it...looks odd when they try.
- A nice new main avatar too.

Looking forward to some fun tonight!

I'm sure micro avatars can still use stocks. Smile

I caught up with the store owner at Toontopia... when I was just passing by. He told me that the Pokemon vendor didn't pay the latest rent, that's why all the stuff is gone. But he was kind enough to give me the vendor name and told me to check back because if that vendor pays the rent, the stuff will be back up.

I also IMed the vendor who made those avatars, hopefully I'll get a reply. Seems he also has locations in other areas, but he's either moving them or they don't exist anymore.

Oh, and I purchased a foot tickler animation for $L150 although it takes a little positioning to get it right. Real cute, can't wait to show you. You can buy this animation at the Pit of Soles, at Francie's place near the front. I tickled quite a few random furries hehe... I also attempted to tickle a quad (he was a little fox), but it looked awkward because I was tickling mid air and he was too short. But he laughed a lot hehe. Smile

I also got some feather tickle animation, and can also bend down and tickle with it. Haven't tried it out yet.

Hmm, if you've got it working with Micro avatars, then that's cool, but when I tried to get my Mew to use them, it sort of split the body up, as if there was an invisible human with the mew head on his head, the legs on his hips, etc.

We'll have to see how the unscripted stocks work with your tickle animation.

Wow, you bought interesting stuff. I'm not sure if I'll have time tonight or any day this weekend, since the situation is awful and I might be working all weekend Sad Anyway looking forward to playing with you soon, testing the new devices out, getting on that tour and taking a lot of screencaps Smile PLus we should try the camping, so we get some extra money. Some give only little money, some more! Barry found one where you get 100L$ for 12 hours Wink

Re: Second Life discussion.

Sounds good.

I found something interesting - dungeon Skyboxes. That Stables place we went to is nice and quiet traffic-wise, and allows building. I can set my own dungeon up in the air there (only temporarily, I'm not sure how long it stays there for, but I'd remove it before I left. It'd be funny if it just vanished while we were in there).

It'll give us a private dungeon room in the sky to put outand play with our devices - the outer door can be locked and access restricted to friends and group members.

I found an awesome spot, $L10 every 20 mins! The owner invited me as he wanted more traffic, lucky I guess.

Oh BTW Seraphon, those devices might be editable too - meaning you can shrink each component to the right size, allowing the tickling of micro avatars like Mew. I was talking to Francie, she's got a new wheel tickler device, with 5 different speeds for $L175 at her Pit of Soles shop.

Yeah, lag was very bad for the whole day ... and heaps of other people have had the same problem. I even lost the properties of a gesture thanks to it. May I suggest this: when you see lag, never transfer.

I hope you get your money back; you should.

It's been a little slow recently. Anyone want to set up a date and time so we can RP in SL together?
